1. Save on parking, gas. Even before the pandemic, Millennials and Generation Xers were already leaving the cities. 2018 was the 4th year in a row that cities with more than half a million people lost residents aged 29-39 to less density areas.'
2. Suburban areas offer greater space and ability for social distancing than cities, along with more green space.
3. In the San Francisco East Bay, the weather on the east side of the tunnels tends to be warmer, with less fog than S.F. or Oakland. Hotter temps allow for more time outdoors BBQ'ing, playing with the kids, the dog, swimming, enjoying sports, gardening, etc.
4. You can typically get more square footage in a home and lot for less money when compared to the city.
