“One day late last spring, my father surprised me by announcing he wanted to look at retirement communities.  Dad had never wanted to leave his home, but at 90 years old and with increasing mobility issues he was finding it difficult to live alone in his Walnut Creek home of 38 years.

Within a few weeks, dad had chosen his new living space and was ready to move.  This had all moved very quickly.  What to do about selling his house?  Our situation was a little challenging in that I lived out of state and we knew there was some work to be done on the house prior to listing it for sale. We interviewed several realtors and decided to work with Dayna, primarily due to her expertise working with seniors and their families and her network of support services.

Dayna is an established realtor in Walnut Creek and brought many resources to the table—knowledgeable inspectors and contractors, a move coordinating service, help resolving a title issue and the list goes on.  Throughout the process, if Dayna didn’t have the answer to a question or the solution to a problem, she was able to point us to someone able to help.  It took time to resolve these issues and Dayna never lost patience with the situation.

Finally, the house was ready to list.  Dayna offered several marketing options for the property. We chose to offer the house in “as-is” condition, off MLS, with investors as our target market.  Due to Dayna’s contacts and her knowledge of the market, 4 valid offers were received from one open house!  Dayna walked us through the offers, ensuring the implications of each offer were clearly understood.

Within a month of receiving offers, we closed on the property – SOLD!
